Affiliate marketing can be a great internet marketing channel to try for increasing sales and traffic to your website.  Basically, affiliate marketing is a process where you pay small commissions each time another website sends a paying visitor over.  So you don’t pay anything for the traffic that is sent to your site unless it actually makes a sale.

This can be an effective strategy because the traffic is essentially free until a sale is made which is what you want.  This relieves you of the risk of paying money for ineffective advertising campaigns.  It’s performance based.

With affiliate marketing, you can brand your business and direct people to your site from multiple other sites.  You can take it  a step further and track what customers are buying and test the traffic so you can expand the campaign to other forms of advertising.  This can be a great way to test conversions of visitors into sales.

An example of an affiliate program which tracks the sales and conversions is Amazon.com there are also affiliate networks.  Today there are many affiliate networks on the rise, but the most known is Commission Junction.  Pixels & Dots, Cincinnati Advertising company can help you to set up and track an effective affiliate program
