Why is it important to have a brand id for my business?

A strong brand identity can make your business stand out from the crowd. People are bombarded everyday with thousands of marketing and advertising messages. They are receiving messages from the television, radio, billboards, internet, and cell phone.

Having a brand id and consistently reinforcing your message and your image in the consumers mind increases your chances of getting noticed. People are naturally attracted to a well organized design and message. So, by having an attractive design and well thought out message, you will naturally attract more business.

Your brand id should depict your business philosophy. If you want your brand id to imply fun, your brand id should scream fun. If you want your brand to imply getting down to business, your brand id should say to a client, “This business is serious”.

A brand id should be representative of the sum of all qualities of a product to the consumer. This is achieved through the look and feel of the brand, everything that is said about the brand and the perceived value. It’s important that your brand message and what the consumer actually receives match up. A brand will quickly diminish in value, if the brand promise is not achieved in the delivery.

Branding can be viewed by consumers and clients as an important value added aspect of products or services.
