When I first started using LinkedIn, I used it mainly as I would a regular rolodex. I wasn’t sure how it would benefit me. I thought of it as, just a rolodex, someplace that I could store my names, phone numbers, addresses and emails. I quickly found that it is much more powerful than a rolodex, because it’s dynamic and constantly changing at a much faster pace.
Not only are you adding contacts into your list, but others are adding you into theirs, suddenly you have the option of adding in contacts of your contacts and your “rolodex” is growing exponentially.
The best reason to start using LinkedIn.
More Google Rankings…
You can now set up a LinkedIn account for your business and if you make your public profile “full view” then your LinkedIn page will be indexed by the search engines. Then when people type your business name into Google, now not only your web site comes up, but your LinkedIn page will come up as well.
Find new customers
You can use LinkedIn’s advanced search to find people in the industry that you sell to. For example, if you were in the business of selling paper, you could go to Advanced Search and type in keywords “purchasing paper” and select your geographic area. This would bring up people who purchase paper in your geographic area.
